Patients of post surgery need to stay away from high carbohydrate foods like chips, pretzels, breads, rice and pasta. This is because hey expansion can course dangerous blockage. Another reason being that lactose is difficult to digest and could cause nausea, gas or diarrhea. Patients who consume milk will have to wait until the third week to reintroduce milk into the system again.

Yet the patient still needs extra protein intake in the body be it liquid, powder or protein bars. Then added to this the patient needs to have a long period of vitamin and mineral supplement after surgery.
Serious complications will normally come up if these guidelines are not followed to the later. Dumping syndrome will be noticed, causing symptoms such as nausea, cramps, diarrhea and abdominal rumbling or even some thing more serious such as low blood pressure, faintness, sweating and anxiety.
